Aliyev receives Turkish Premier

Azerbaijani president and Turkish premier state successful development of bilateral relations.

President Ilham Aliyev is confident about the high effectiveness of the official visit of Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Azerbaijan.

“Our visit will become a very important step for the development of the bilateral ties and it will be effective”, Aliyev said during the expanded negotiations with the Turkish Premier in Baku on Monday”,  AZTV channel reports.

The Azerbaijani president has expressed satisfaction with the state of cooperation between the two countries.

“We have held an expanded exchange of views, discussed all spheres of bilateral relations and have seen again that the Turkish-Azerbaijani friendly and fraternal relations are developing successfully, our peoples are closely cooperating and all of our joint initiatives and projects are successfully implemented”, the president said. He noted that Turkey and Azerbaijan are successfully cooperating as usually and demonstrating joint attitude to the challenges and tasks facing them.

“I am confident that this wonderful tradition will further continue and our peoples will be even closer”, the head of the state said.

In turn, Erdogan noted that in period of the bilateral talks the sides managed to discuss bilateral regional and international issues. The Turkish premier announced that the bilateral talks on the problems discussed in Baku will continue at the upcoming meeting abroad.

“Turkey and Azerbaijan are two undivided fraternal states and members of one family”, Erdogan said. The premier noted that during his each visit to Azerbaijan he is witnessing a greater development of the country and Turkey is happy about it.

Erdogan, who was in Iran earlier in the day, proceeded to Baku.

Turkish State Minister Mehmet Aydin, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz are accompanying Erdogan.

"Shah Deniz-1 Natural Gas Agreement" is expected to be signed during Erdogan's visit.

Azerbaijan`s First Lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, goodwill ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP Mehriban Aliyeva met with Turkish Prime Minister`s spouse Emine Erdogan.

Earlier in the day, Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoglu, Foreign Minister Celso Amorim of Brazil and Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki of Iran signed an agreement on procedure of nuclear fuel swap deal in Tehran.

Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan, who was also in Iran, attended the signing ceremony together with President Mahmud Ahmadinejad of Iran and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of Brazil.
