Jordan to train 48 Afghan preachers in Islamic tolerance

Forty eight Afghan mosque leaders arrived in Amman Monday as guests of the Jordanian armed forces to attend workshops on Islamic tolerance and moderation, the official Petra news agency reported.

The week-long lecture series cover dialogue among religions in a bid to enable the Afghan preachers, who came from several provinces in Afghanistan, to "promulgate Islam's message of tolerance and moderation in their communities", dpa quoted the report as saying.

Hundreds of Jordanian armed forces personnel are involved in medical and humanitarian activities in Afghanistan.
