Young judges of Azerbaijan meet with judges of European Court

According to the instructions of Azerbaijani President, new courts, as well as new administrative courts have been created in seven regions of the country in order to improve judicial activities, improve opportunities for people to use the courts and ensure more reliable protection of human rights. In order to ensure better consideration of cases, the staff of judges has been considerably expanded, judicial candidates were elected according to the progressive European rules and appointed to their posts.

Newly appointed judges, at the Plenum of the Supreme Court took the oath on the eve of Constitution Day and have begun their activities.
Arrived in Azerbaijan in connection with the 15th anniversary of the national Constitution, written by the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the judges of the European Court of Human Rights, David Thor Borgvinson (Iceland), Joseph Casadevall (Andorra), Anne Power (Ireland) and Khanlar Hajiyev (Azerbaijan) met with newly appointed judges.

At the event, organized by the Supreme Court, the sides exchanged views on case law applied by the judges of the European Court, young judges were given the necessary recommendations. The event was attended by public prosecutors, judicial officers and representatives of the Judicial-Legal Council.

The guests also met with Chairman of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev. The meeting noted the importance of the study and application of case law and the need to meet with the judges of the Court and the fruitfulness of direct communication with them.
