France has no contacts with separatist regime of Karabakh

No country including Armenia recognizes the independence of Nagorno Karabakh.

According to the news service for the Azerbaijani embassy in France, the due statement was made by French Secretary of State Hervé Novelli said speaking on behalf of the French FM Bernard Kouchner at a plenary session of the French Senate on July 6.

'France supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan within internationally recognized borders and like any other state, including Armenia, does not recognize independence of Nagorno Karabakh which has been repeatedly stated by the French government', said the secretary of state speaking about the position of official Paris to the representation of "Nagorno Karabakh republic: in France from member on external affairs and defense issues of the French Senate Nathalie Goulet, sent to the Foreign Ministry within the procedure of "A question to the government".

According to Novelli, France which remains local to the aforementioned position does not maintain any contacts with the de-facto governmental structures of the separatist regime functioning in Nagorno Karabakh.

The secretary of state added that no representation of this territorial unit declared itself accredited in the French government can be credible and only French co-chair of the Minsk Group Bernard Fassier is allowed by the state structures of Azerbaijan to meet representatives of the de-facto governmental structures of separatist Nagorno Karabakh during his visits there.

Nathalie Goulet is a member of the group of friendship with the Caucasus functioning within the Senate of France.
