STRATFOR founder George Friedman has visited the editorial offices of News.Az and Armenia.Az.
Prof. Friedman, founder and head of the International Strategic Research Centre, met News.Az director Elnur Baimov.
The visitor learned more about one of the biggest English-language news agencies in Azerbaijan and discussed the current situation in Azerbaijan, the South Caucasus and world in general.
The political scientist also expressed interest in Armenia.Az, the only project of its kind in Azerbaijan, through which residents of Armenia have access to unbiased and reliable information about Azerbaijan and Azerbaijanis in their native language.
George Friedman noted the importance of the Armenia.Az project in forming an unbiased attitude among Armenians to Azerbaijan in the context of achieving a peaceful solution to the Karabakh conflict.
The two sides also discussed details of future cooperation between News.Az and STRATFOR.
Strategic Forecasting Inc. (STRATFOR) is a private US intelligence and analysis company, dubbed by Barron's Magazine 'the shadow CIA'. George Friedman founded it in 1996 and remains head of the company.
The company collects and analyses information about events worldwide. Based on the collected data, STRATFOR analysts make economic and geopolitical forecasts.
George Friedman is visiting Azerbaijan. He has spoken at a round-table at Azerbaijan's Centre for Strategic Studies on 'The imbalance in US foreign policy' and has met some of the country's senior officials.
