Two Azerbaijani poaching ships with over 500 kg sturgeon fish on the boat have been detained in the Caspian Sea.
The statement was made by spokesman for the department of internal affairs of the Atyrau province Gulnazira Mukhtarova, Kazakhstan Today reports.
"Two Azerbaijani ships with 18 Azerbaijani citizens of board were arrested in the Caspian Kazakh sector during the joint operations of the divisions of the interior department, prosecution on environmental protection, frontier service of the National Security Committee and other services. By preliminary information, there are over 500 kilograms of sturgeon fish on the board", the spokesman for the department said.
Mukhtarova also noted that the poachers were detained thanks to the flying around the Caspian Kazakh Sea that clearly detected the places of dislocation of poaching ships".
